Daniel Ron and Meahgan O’Grady from Long Point Capital will lead a discussion of the factors that a private equity investor may consider when evaluating a potential acquisition of a company such as Murphy's Metal Manufacturing, (our 2017-2018 case study business), including an in-depth dive into the Company’s market position, competitive advantages, growth opportunities, cyclicality and seasonality of cash flows, efficiency of operations, capital expenditure requirements, industry trends, strength of the management team, and other factors that may impact pricing and expected returns on their investment.

Prior to joining Long Point, Dan worked at Gridiron Capital, a middle market private equity firm investing in manufacturing, business services and specialty consumer products businesses. Dan has also worked at the Ford Motor Company as a Manufacturing Finance Analyst and with Mellon Ventures and Investor Growth Capital, where he evaluated venture and growth stage investment opportunities. Dan graduated with a B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and also holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Meahgan heads Long Point’s business development effort, sourcing and evaluating new opportunities. She is also an active member of the deal teams, heavily involved with all aspects of transaction execution. Prior to joining Long Point Capital in 2017, Meahgan worked at Goldman Sachs as a Senior Associate in the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division. Meahgan received an M.B.A. from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a B.B.A from The College of William and Mary's Mason School of Business.
