Business Valuations – What is the business really worth?

PowerPoint Presentation

When reviewing a business valuation prepared by an independent third party, which assumptions, methodologies, underlying data, etc. should be critically examined by the end user? Our valuation experts will go through the basics of valuation to help the management of PeopleCo better understand the individual components of the valuation analysis, as well as provide insight on how to assess the quality and reliability of the analysis. The presentation will review the primary methodologies used in a valuation assignment, as well as some of the key questions to ask and issues to watch out for when reviewing the valuation, such as:

  • Strategic vs. Fair Market Value
  • Typical normalization adjustments and when they should be applied
  • How previous transactions in company stock can affect value
  • Timing of gifts with a potential sale
  • Discounts to value related to minority interests
  • When planning for an exit should start and what aspects should be considered from a valuation standpoint
