XPX(Exit Planning Exchange) is a local nonprofit association of professional advisors to business owners in the heart of the middle market. Our members work in all stages of the private company life cycle: business value growth, business value transfer, and owner life and legacy.

Currently the meetings are held in Philadelphia each month. These meeting attract over 40 professionals and the programming is excellent, but the meeting location and time is just not convenient for many of us who live and work in the suburbs.

At this organizing meeting you will learn more about XPX. Our association events promote peer learning, networking and visibility for our members in the local private company advisor community.

So you found the right suitor for your client’s business. The business and strategic interests are perfectly aligned. Valuation terms are agreed upon by both parties. But, Personalities Clash!

How to avoid the big showdown, and keep interests aligned to close the deal when personalities are getting in the way.

We will be covering a Real Case from one of our members and discussing how personality assessment tools (DISC in this case), helped to avoid a stalemate, and how creative negotiations allowed for both parties to win in the end when the solution was not what had initially been agreed to.

Come prepared to find a creative solution, hear other’s unique viewpoints, and to learn more about how personality and psychological assessment tools are being used in today’s deals.

It’s a lot more valuable than you may realize.

All businesses, regardless of size, must deal with cybersecurity breaches and fraud. Ransomware, attacks on websites and theft of customer information, to name a few threats, can cause a company to lose substantial value, which may never be recovered. It is incumbent upon all business owners and their advisors to be aware of the risks all businesses face, and what measures can be taken to mitigate the fallout from a cybersecurity threat.

Join Mitchell Rock, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Wells Fargo Advisors, as he interviews Allan Dunlavy of Schillings International, an international reputation and privacy consultancy staffed by reputation, privacy and family lawyers, risk consulting, cyber security and intelligence specialists. Based in New York, Allan provides strategic reputation and privacy advice to international businesses, individuals and senior management. Working with clients to devise and implement proactive strategies and to manage crisis situations, wherever they emanate from in the world, Allan is an experienced problem solver who specializes in mitigating risks to reputation and confidential information. Come to this interactive program lead by chapter president Michael Clear. We will explore building the perfect advisory team and will discuss:

      • Various timelines for effective exit planning
      • Who should be part of the company’s advisory team and how should that team build-up and change during the timeline
      • Who are the best quarterbacks to lead the transition process? Should quarterbacks change depending on the phase of the exit?
      • Strategies to use when an advisor needs to be supplemented
      • How do professional teams work more effectively together towards a common goal

Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn (and explain to others) the best time for you to be referred into an advisory team working towards a business sale. The program will utilize the expertise of a number of our members who will be in attendance.
